this is such an amazing edition (and not just because of the shoutout … THANK YOU for the mention) … but what i truly love is that so often folks talk about rest, naps, slowing down, being anti-hustle without helping to build a bridge between here and there. you both have started to do that! so, thank you, thank you, thank you.

My must-have/ go-to practices include pen and paper (for task lists, brain dumping, drafting writing, etc.); trying to do everything on tech was draining — and keeping some things analog keeps me in pace with myself instead of running at the speed of the world. I also try to have a no-tech or super low-tech day each week where I just let my brain wander ..& sometimes, my brain and body wander into a nap. Long showers and baths have also helped me with this.

The biggest idea that’s let me lean into “slowmaxxing” is to give my brain and body (writing, water, walking, nature, silence, etc.) what they love as often as possible — which lets me go at the speed/ pace of me. Naturally, I don’t rush; I move slowly … and I let myself lean into that.

these are all incredible. i’m an analog person too. have to write things down on paper. we used to have one full day a week on wednesdays where we would let our creative minds wander. i need to get better at movement and nature. i don’t love summer (even though im born in august). i love a fall day to get outside in nature.

I don’t love summer either. I am melting in this heat. 🫠

My body and mind love the movement more than I hate the melting though — so I be out there, just sweating my little life away. 😂

I love that idea of giving your mind a day to just wander.
